Harriet Rowan
Harriet Rowan is a journalist focused on investigative and international reporting.
At a bilingual elementary school Harriet learned Spanish as a child, and went on to study Arabic in high school and college. At the University of Wisconsin, Madison she studied the history and politics of Latin America and the Middle East. Harriet lived in Morocco for a year studying Arabic and Moroccan culture, and has traveled in Central and South America.
Her goal as a reporter is to use her language skills and area knowledge to bring under reported stories from the global south to an international audience, using web-based multimedia storytelling.
Before attending the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism Harriet worked at a non-profit investigative reporting organization writing about and researching politics in Wisconsin and issues of money in politics around the nation.
