At the end of 2008, I left the daily newspaper business after 35 years. I was the Sacramento Bee’s Public Editor for four years, but the position was eliminated as part of the paper’s cutbacks. I then became an editor in the Bee’s feature section. Not much controversy in the weekly Garden section. Heirloom tomato vs. a hybrid?
I left the paper because of family health issues and now work at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California as the Media Services manager.
