Alessandra Bergamin is a freelance journalist and researcher originally from Melbourne, Australia.

She writes news stories, in-depth features and produces videos for publications including the New Yorker, Harper’s magazine, Literary Hub, Ensia and The Establishment. Her reporting often focuses on agricultural communities, immigration, public health and environmental justice.

At the Graduate School of Journalism she was a narrative writing and new media major. She is fluent in Italian and conversant in Spanish. She has reported from Italy, Nicaragua, Haiti and Kenya.
