The 2nd episode of ‘Sound Tracks’ will be screened for students, faculty and special guests in the Banatao Auditorium at Sutardja Dai Hall. Sound Tracks examines the intersections of music/culture/politics/geography. This hour long episode features stories about singer Julie Fowlis and the Gaelic revival in Scotland, Youssou N’dour and the elections in Senegal, and Wynton Marsalis talking jazz in Chicago.
It airs nationally on PBS at 9pm October 5th. J-school alums Cassandra Herrman (producer), Alexis Bloom (reporter), Emily Taguchi (producer) and Vanessa Carr (videographer) worked on this edition. Lecturer Steve Talbot is the Executive Producer of Sound Tracks. Senior Lecturer Bob Calo is the Senior Producer.
