Cambodian Profiles: Digital TV Reports

Students in the “Digital TV and the World” special project are learning to report and edit in the field using small cameras and laptops.

This past fall, they reported feature stories about native Cambodians in their homeland and immigrants living in Stockton, California.

At this event, the students will screen a selection of their works, ranging from stories about teenagers in America learning about their Cambodian roots, to tales of a struggling fisherman and the quest of a man from the countryside to find a doctor to diagnose his illness.

The “Digital TV and the World” special project is supported by gifts from the Walter and Elise Haas Fund, the Broadcast and Professional Systems Division of Sony Electronics Inc., Apple, and the Graduate School of Journalism.
