Kids in Kake reel in prizes
Kake is a tiny fishing village in Southeast Alaska. Over the past 10 years the town has seen their population sink, fuel prices shoot through the roof and a once profitable logging industry dry up. One thing they look forward to every year is a fishing derby that the Forest Service puts on. The entire town, all 200 of them, comes out.
Senior, Senior Prom
Petersburg, AK Petersburg Mental Health Services staff this spring noticed some of the residents at the hospital’s long term care looking a little lackluster. To cheer them up they came up with a simple fix – throw a party. On Friday, Petersburg Mental Health hosted a senior, senior prom. The theme was “Dancing in the Rain.”
