- Kake is a tiny fishing village in Southeast Alaska. Over the past 10 years the town has seen their population sink, fuel prices shoot through the roof and a once profitable logging industry dry up. One thing they look forward to every year is a fishing derby that the Forest Service puts on. The entire town, all 200 of them, comes out.

- Petersburg, AK Petersburg Mental Health Services staff this spring noticed some of the residents at the hospital’s long term care looking a little lackluster. To cheer them up they came up with a simple fix – throw a party. On Friday, Petersburg Mental Health hosted a senior, senior prom. The theme was “Dancing in the Rain.”
