Gregory Barber
Gregory Barber is a science and technology journalist based in San Francisco. A former computer scientist, he often writes about how disparate fields, from healthcare to wildlife conservation, are being shaped by technology and quantitative thinking. He was recently an investigative reporting fellow at CUNY’s McGraw Center for Business Journalism and a journalist-in-residence at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing. He contributes regularly to The New York Times and Quanta Magazine, among others.
Previously, Greg was a staff writer and editor at WIRED, where his reporting on climate change and biodiversity won awards from the American Geophysical Union and the Society of Professional Journalists.
