“100 SUNS,” is a collaboration with artist Michael Light and the Graduate School of Journalism, Center for Photography.
“100 SUNS,” is a week-long week-long
public exhibit on Memorial Glade. It will be based on Light’s acclaimed 2003 book of the same name, which featured 100 previously classified American nuclear detonation photographs made by the military during the era of U.S. atmospheric atomic testing, which lasted from 1945 to 1962.
Light is a San Francisco-based photographer and bookmaker broadly focused on the environment and how contemporary American culture relates to it. He has exhibited internationally, and his work has been collected by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Getty Research Library, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
