Sarah El Safty
Sarah is an Egyptian/American business journalist. After graduating with a BA in Multimedia Journalism and Economics, she went on to cover business stories across the Middle East, including the launch of Saudi Arabia’a economic transformation plan, the GCC’s adaptation to a low-price environment, and Egypt’s adoption of the IMF program.
She also has experience working across several media platforms, specifically audio. Her audio documentaries on a female street food vendor in Egypt and the gaming scene in Egypt went on to win several international student awards. She was also part of a team that launched one of Egypt’s first English-language podcasts.
As a student at UC Berkeley, she is trying to tell more compelling business stories that are interactive, visual and data-driven.
