Lisa Hornak

Lisa is a visual journalist working for newspapers, magazines, and wire services worldwide. In her reporting she focuses on women’s issues and human rights. Conservation is important to her too, and she looks for stories where environment and culture intersect. Lisa’s photographs have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, The Atlantic, USA Today, NBC News, The Boston Globe, Le Figaro, and Cambodia Daily. She teaches photojournalism for National Geographic Student Expeditions and New York Times Student Journeys. She holds a BA in English Literature from Boston University and is pursuing her Masters in Journalism at University of California, Berkeley. In her free time, she loves to surf, rock climb, hike, read, practice yoga and play with her dogs Bodhi and Bear.
