Katie Woodruff is a journalist with a passion for politics, law, women’s rights and the intersectionality of the three. A native of Oklahoma, she was responsible for the inception of OSU’s inaugural video network where she served as producer, reporter and anchor. Katie served as chairwoman of the Student Media Board where she shaped the future of student media at the university and as president of the Association for Women in Sports Media where she promoted the advancement of women in a primarily male dominated field.

From the Milo Yiannopoulos protest on the UC Berkeley campus to an expose on concussions in today’s youngest athletes, she has produced a range of reporting on various media platforms. Katie currently covers Oakland City Hall on the politics beat for Oakland North and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Oklahoma State University.
