The Bus Stop Battle

There used to be an AC Transit bus stop at 30th and Broadway in Oakland, and it was heavily used by bus riders to get to medical appointments or to shop at Grocery Outlet—a mostly older, low-income population that relies on public transit. But a year ago, the bus stop disappeared without any public process. Now the bus stop has become the center of a political battle for bus riders and transit advocates who are fighting to protect access to safe, efficient public transit.
