Hi there. I am a San Francisco Bay Area native who graduated from the Berkeley J-School in 2013. Currently I am the associate editor of Diablo magazine, the magazine of the East Bay, and the managing editor of Napa Sonoma. I also oversee Diablo’s website and shoot videos from time to time. In addition to my day job, I am a member of the board of directors and the chair of the communications committee for Exceptional Women in Publishing, a women’s leadership nonprofit.

Before J-School, I worked at print newspapers and alternative newsweeklies up in Chico, where I also attended the university and got dual degrees in news-editorial journalism and public relations. At Berkeley, I focused on multimedia and magazine, specifically editing and print journalism’s transition to the Web. I was the managing editor and project manager of Brink, the J-School’s magazine, and the associate director of the Felker Magazine Center. In grad school I also expanded my skill set to include some programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery), design, video (shooting, producing, editing), and radio.

I have completed several internships, doing everything from writing about happiness for Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center to researching domestic sex trafficking for a documentarian.

If you want to get in touch with me, shoot me an email at staceykennelly@gmail.com. I’m always looking to meet interesting people and learn new things.
