Janelle Chng
Janelle Chng serves as the Finance Director for the School of Journalism. She holds an MBA from the University of Arizona, and brings experience across both corporate and higher education finance. Prior to joining Berkeley, she held the role of Director of Financial Planning and Analysis for Saint Mary’s College of California. While there, she led the budgeting process for the college and provided planning and decision support for senior leadership.
She values building strong, collaborative relationships in order to align financial decisions with institutional priorities to help strengthen the school. She looks forward to meeting colleagues and working together to support the mission of preparing the next generation of journalists.
Janelle is deeply passionate about education. In addition to her professional work, she has served the community as an elected official on the local school district’s governing board, and has volunteered in a variety of roles in the local education foundation and parent teacher organizations.
