Haydee Barahona
Haydee Barahona is a bilingual journalist and master’s student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Raised in California’s Central Valley, her reporting focuses on education, children and families and Latino communities.
Barahona earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from California State University, Bakersfield, where she helped transform the university’s student-led newspaper, The Runner, into a Spanish-English print publication. She has been recognized for her leadership by CSU Bakersfield, and for her reporting and photography by the California College Media Association.
Barahona’s work has appeared in The Intersection, CalMatters, Local News Matters and other publications.
