Carolyn Callahan
Carolyn Callahan returned to UC Berkeley in 2026 after a short stretch in the Chancellor’s office at UCSF. Carolyn began her research management career at Cal in 2006 and has also worked in fundraising and research development roles. Carolyn says she couldn’t be happier to join the Investigative Journalism Program, as it feels like the closing of a circle. As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, she took David Weir’s investigative journalism course, worked as a fact-checker at Mother Jones magazine and served as a research assistant to Jessica Mitford on her book, “The American Way of Birth.”
