Writer/ Journalist – Byline Writing
Startups, Technology and the Digital Economy

LA -based communications firm is looking for several part-time writers to work as part of an editorial team that develops thought-leadership bylines for CEOs of VC-backed tech companies. The ideal candidate will have a degree in journalism and/or communications, and be able to demonstrate solid skills in writing and editing for industry and magazine publications. Advanced degree a plus. Compensation is $25-$40/hr., depending on experience.

This is a ground-floor opportunity for someone who wants to be part of building a new kind of communications process. Our firm is small, but our footprint covers the U.S. and is focused on technology companies, digital lifestyle issues, diversity in the workforce, and emerging trends. The successful applicant will work side by side with everyone on the team, and play a key role in the organization. Primary responsibilities will include collaborating with the research team, writing first drafts of the thought-leadership articles, and working closely with the editors to produce first-rate, completed stories for publication in major media outlets.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:
Should have the ability to write bylined tech stories at a fast pace and with absolute attention to detail
Should be able to take materials from our research department and develop high-quality, original thought leadership stories that contributing editors will find first rate and compelling
Should be a self starter but also work well with other team members
Should have a good sense of humor and enjoy the work

The position will require 6-12 hours per week initially, and writers can be located remotely.
