Richmond Pulse is youth-led, community media platform for Richmond and West Contra Costa County, an area ripe with story-telling potential.

We are a non-profit, grant-funded local news organization.

We are seeking a reporter ready to jump into covering local news and city politics. This position is ideal for new journalists eager to work a beat or veterans who want to tell great stories.

Since its founding in 2011, Richmond Pulse has been a training ground and stepping stone for ambitious journalists who have gone on to KQED, NPR, Youth Radio and Jigsaw Productions, to name a few.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and passionate about community journalism and should be comfortable using social media to promote his or her stories. Some reporting experience at a daily or weekly is preferred, but all candidates will be considered.
