Full Time Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice/Journalism
The English Department in Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Chapman University seeks a non-tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice/Journalism, beginning August 2019. This job requires teaching upper-division and introductory level workshop courses in the practical aspects of reporting, writing and editing, specifically: Beginning and Advanced Digital Design for Journalists; Digital Reporting Workshop for Journalists; Digital Editing Workshop for Journalists; Digital Magazine Workshop for Journalists. The instructor will also supervise student internships.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Five- 10 years professional journalism experience
- Some college or university teaching with student evaluations and/or experience supervising and editing reporters in the newsroom.
- Demonstrated knowledge of packaging content for print, web, and social media, specifically: WordPress publishing; social media strategies; writing photo captions and hashtags; producing Instagram stories; copyright and image attribution; basic photography (still and video); basic editing; Photoshop; Illustrator; InDesign; Finalcut Pro or Adobe Premier or equivalent; Google analytics.
- Master’s degree preferred but will accept B.A. with significant professional experience.
