J601 Administrative “Ghost” Units

These are administrative units students can take to reach full time status (12 units).

In order to register for 601 (Ghost Units), you’ll need to reach out to the head graduate adviser and cc Michael Paz (mkpaz@berkeley.edu). Please provide how many units you’re hoping to sign up for and the rationale for it. With the approval from the head grad adviser, Michael will add the units for you.

Moving forward, you can NOT sign up for these credits yourself. You’ll need to follow the above workflow to sign up for 601 units.

Note: J601 units cannot be used toward fulfilling the 36 unit degree requirement.
