Digital Content Editor - UCSF Medical Center
UCSF Health Marketing raises the profile of UCSF Health, improves professional recognition and helps foster the sustainable growth by clearly and consistently communicating why UCSF is the best place to come for care.
The Digital Editor serves as a key member of the UCSF Health digital marketing team and will have the opportunity to work on an innovative digital overhaul of the consumer-health facing experience for UCSF Health. This role will involve crafting compelling content across various digital channels (web, social, native advertising) to increase brand awareness and drive business to UCSF Health. The Digital Editor will update and produce new content for consumers, patients, and referring physicians on www.ucsfhealth.org and www.ucsfbenioffchildrens.org.
The successful candidate is a wordsmith with an interest in health content, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a desire to create innovative and customer-centric digital experiences.
The successful candidate:
Manages freelance fact checkers, writers and copy editors to produce high quality digital copy under tight deadlines.
Works well with doctors and healthcare providers to translate complicated medical language into accurate, consumer-health friendly copy
Actively manages the impact of engagement through web analytics, social listening and customer-relationship management tools and recommends adjustments as necessary.
Has a proven track record of creating digital content that engages users and follows best practices of search engine optimization.
Collaborates with colleagues in strategic marketing, public relations, and physician outreach to ensure integrated and coordinated marketing efforts.
Has experience with or a desire to learn about site personalization, persona mapping and customer engagement and retention.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced digital communications professional to produce content for a variety of non-routine and moderately complex web site applications; ensure search engine optimization; and develop social media platforms. Demonstrates a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies and procedures. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Produces content for a variety of digital applications, as well as information architecture.
Meets and consults with clients on a variety of digital communications projects including moderately complex assignments, and develops, presents, and recommends digital content, site architecture and visual material.
Accountable for ensuring technical accuracy and understandability of digital content.
Maintains currency with emerging and state-of-the-art technical and other web-related equipment, requirements and developments (for example, accessibility issues) and recommends and as directed, takes action to ensure compliance.

Minimum four years experience in digital content development.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, English,marketing or related field.
