Yngrid Fuentes
Yngrid is a multimedia student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism where she works as a reporter for UC-affiliated online news sites. Stories feature Bay Area businesses, health, trends and human-interest topics for print and multimedia.
As a Mexican reporter for Grupo Reforma, where she worked for three years, Yngrid covered stories on education programs, health, trends, art and literature.
She also published feature stories on monthly feature publications and collaborated with the “Trips” section of the newspaper, where her duties included field production in foreign countries, research and photography.
As a Mexican journalist Yngrid had the opportunity to report on underrepresented communities in the state of Nuevo Leon, talk with victims of violence and government corruption, and interview writers such as Isabel Allende, Paulo Cohelo and Elena Poniatowska.
