RSS Feeds
Syndicated News Feeds
Some sections of the J-School web site are also available as syndicated RSS/XML news feeds. To subscribe to a news feed, right-click (PC) or Cmd-click (Mac) an XML icon and choose "Copy link to clipboard." You can then paste the link into your feed reader's Subscriptions manager. Some web browsers also include built-in RSS aggregators -- look for an "RSS" link in your browser's URL field.

What is RSS?
RSS, or Rich Site Summary, is a mechanism for publishing story excerpts, headlines, and URLs in a strict XML format that can be read by computer software called an "aggregator" or "RSS news reader." Many people find that using an aggregator saves time by allowing them to see what's being published on many sites at once, rather than surfing to sites sequentially. J.D. Lasica of the Online Journalism Review has written an excellent overview of RSS, titled News That Comes to You. Fagan Finder has another excellent introduction to RSS. Scott Rosenberg of Salon writes that "RSS delivers a long-promised Internet dream."
