RICHMOND -- Richmond Police are investigating a house robbery that took place Friday in the 5000 block of Esmond Ave.
According to Officer Dan Wellhausen of the Richmond Police Department, an unknown suspect or suspects entered the home between the hours of 7:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. while the owner was at her job in Oakland.
Wellhausen said when owner returned home, she discovered her television, VCR and stereo were missing. She also noticed the contents of her drawers were strewn across her bedroom floor.
Wellhausen said the suspect first attempted to forcibly the home by prying a screen window on the northwest corner of the building. When that proved unsuccessful, Wellhausen said the suspect forced entry through a sliding window in the garage located at the west side of the two-bedroom residence.
After taking the television, VCR and stereo, the suspect fled the scene through the garage door, according to Wellhausen. The cash value of the stolen merchandise is undetermined.
