March 9, 2006 - Internet Invasion

Today’s show is all about how the Internet takes over people’s lives.

Reporter Joe Mullin reports on the ways adults are getting hip to teens online. Nicole Dianne Dawley looks at how employers are using myspace to check up on applicants. Kara Andrade finds out how people are using the Internet to organize around issues. And Emily Taguchi discovers that humans aren’t the only ones making friends online - even dogs can connect via web sites like dogster.com.

This week our hosts were Lygia Navarro and Shelly Meron. Lygia spoke with Jen King, a graduate student in the School of Information, to find out where Internet social networking is headed. And Shelly went out on the street to find out what Cal students think.

This show was produced by Charla Bear. It was engineered by Ki-Min Sung. The advisor was George Lewinski.
