The second Sino-Japanese war is really understudied in the west. Maybe it is due to the fact that all the glory of world war II went to the European frontiers and maybe because we learn and teach more what is close to our hearts as the fights that American soldiers participated at.

Do you know Iris Chang's "The Rape of Nanking" has not pujblished yet? "The Rape of Nanking" failed to publish in Japan though Iris Chang wanted to publish? Because more than 90 errors in her book were pointed out by some Japanese historians. At first, almost photos put in her book tuned out to be either they were not related to Nanking Massacre or fabricated one. And yet, Japanese history wrote by her had many errors as low level as even Japanese primary school pupils could point out. So, the publisher had no choice but to abandon her plan. I think many Japanese people would have begun doubting about the existence of Nanking Massacre earlier if her book realized to be published. Please check it.
