The stories, images and sounds on this website are the collaborative work of very talented students in a J200 class at UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism. I was proud to be their teacher.  The site itself was designed by two of the students, Chris Tomkins and Lisa Pickoff-White. We had invaluable editing assistance from Jim Finefrock in putting this project together,  and from our own Ben Hubbard who did the copyediting.
