Description:
We are looking for a talented, highly motivated and detail oriented Marketing Writer to join its acclaimed in-house creative team. As part of our fast-paced internal agency, you'll develop concepts, write marketing copy and produce other creative text intended to engage, attract and sell for integrated cross-channel initiatives including email, online advertising and print collateral.
Responsibilties:
Develop clear, concise, persuasive and brand-appropriate messaging for a variety of materials including emails, sales promotions, banners, brochures, advertisements and other marketing materials; emphasis on sales promotions that support key marketing initiatives and inspire action
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to understand business objectives and audience demographics
Product “owner” at the copywriting level, including managing projects from concept to completion while maintaining ownership of and accountability over the process
Condense large amounts of messaging and information into succinct consumer communications; write customer-centric copy that uses the appropriate voice for a particular user
Exercise quality control on all copy, including obtaining approvals, fact-checking and editing/proofreading
Collaborate and work closely with colleagues in design and marketing
Help ensure all marketing communications maintain a high level of quality, feature a consistent tone and style and support and reinforce the Kaplan brand
Experience:
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in English, journalism, communications or related field
3+ years of consumer marketing copywriting experience including email marketing, banner, direct mail and promotions experience; experience writing for a variety of digital touch points (SEO experience a plus)
Strong editing and proofreading skills a must; impeccable spelling, grammar, punctuation
Full command of the craft of advertising and promotional copywriting; able to develop fresh, engaging and well-structured headlines, body copy and calls to action
Able to write to the Kaplan Test Prep brand voice, absorb and apply industry vernacular and extensive product knowledge and balance brand voice with direct response effectiveness
Articulate thinker able to internalize creative direction, react quickly and interact productively during brainstorms and meetings
Able to understand how copy drives response rates and comfortable with writing subject line, offer and audience tests
Familiarity with graphic design principles and understanding of the relationship between words and visuals; experience working with art directors and designers
Current knowledge of the latest marketing and digital trends and technologies
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively as a member of a fast-paced, dynamic marketing team and forge strong working relationships across departments
Exceptional attention to detail; ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately
Proficiency in MS Office and other applications commonly used in business environments; HTML knowledge a plus
Professional work ethic and a team player
