Coconuts Media Ltd. is looking for a dynamic and hard-working web editor for hyperlocal news and reviews website Coconuts Bangkok, based in steamy and exciting Bangkok, Thailand
Do you have a passion for urban life and metro reporting, from crime to transportation to nightlife to the arts?
Are you a skilled and versatile writer, able to churn out entertaining and engaging copy with a unique voice on any subject?
Are you a tech-savvy social media and blogging whiz?
Are you hardworking, motivated, intelligent, and reliable?
At the end of the day, do you give it 110%, do your best, leave it all out on the field, and embody any and all other sports-related metaphors not listed here?
Responsibilities will include:
-Writing regular daily hyperlocal stories for Coconuts Bangkok with an emphasis on news. Stories will involve a mixture of original reporting and re-writing information from other sources.
-Editing the CoconutsBangkok.com website: Posting stories, writing headlines and captions, keeping homepage fresh, optimizing content for search engines, and more
-Managing freelance writers, posting their stories, creating a schedule of regular contributions and sticking to it
-Some management of Coconuts Bangkok's Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ accounts
-Acting as a local representative of Coconuts Bangkok – attending parties and events, promoting the website, and creating connections
Experience:
Experience required:
- University degree
- At least one year's working experience at a reputable magazine, newspaper, or, most preferably, a website/blog
- Unique and entertaining writing voice
- Nose for a good story and a healthy competitive attitude
- Relentless work ethic
- Ownership of a decent camera and photo/video skills are a plus.
