Description:
GXS is seeking a copywriter/editor.This individual is responsible for analyzing, creating, and managing written content for a wide range of deliverables, including data sheets, case studies, white papers, thought leadership articles, direct mail, and other sales collateral and executive summaries.The role spans the lifecycle of a project, from initial consultation and strategy to final proofing and quality assurance, and consists of both internal and external responsibilities. This individual will work closely with technology, marketing and industry leaders to create a unified, customer-driven content direction for all of the business's products and services in support of its value proposition.
This individual should have thorough understanding of B2B copywriting, marketing and strategy, and basic working knowledge of Internet technologies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Great attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research and craft compelling long and short form copy.
- Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining consistent quality.
- Accountable for editorial execution, review, and revision of content according to content strategy requirements, business objectives, and user needs.
- Use content tools and reference materials as needed, including brand message architecture; content style guide; seed content; and client-friendly content input tools.
- Meet creative standards of the team.
- Strong initiative and ability to produce material with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to ask probing questions that get to the heart of a topic and write compelling content.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills to manage schedules and juggle multiple projects.
- Accountabilities in Level Scope:
- Content creation and review 60%
- Client management and key messaging interviews 20%
- Editing of draft content 20%
- Required: Portfolio of writing samples.
Knowledge:
- Experience with or knowledge of B-to-B marketing and Internet technologies a plus.
- Ability to assimilate input about complicated products and services in order to communicate clearly with compelling content.
- Ability to adapt writing style and tone to fit business challenges based on target audiences and brand standards.

Experience:
Education and Experience:
- One to three years of experience as a content/copywriting specialist in a corporate environment.
- Experience using the Chicago Manual of Style guidelines.
- Superior written and verbal communications skills are essential.
- Education level: Bachelor Degree; minimum: 1-3 years experience in content development, copywriting/editing, marketing or corporate communications.
Industry Experience:
- Experience with or knowledge of B-to-B marketing and Internet technologies a plus.
- Understanding of EDI, B2B integration, cloud computing, SaaS and SOA a plus.
