The East Bay Express has an immediate vacancy for the entry-level position of clubs editor, the person in charge of compiling the East Bay’s most comprehensive weekly music listings. The clubs editor will also write one 150-word show recommendation per week, plus two 250-word CD reviews and either two 850-word music stories or one 1200-word music story per month. This is a part-time, 16-hours-a-week job without benefits.
Experience:
Our ideal candidate is someone with an interest in and awareness of the vast Bay Area music scene — not just indie rock and hip-hop, but also electronica, country, world, folk, experimental, metal, and classical. Applicants must be organized; detail-oriented; discerning; have an aptitude for data entry; and be able to write clean, compelling content.
