Description:

India-West Newspaper has an opening for a full-time reporter at their offices in San Leandro, Calif. Duties include reporting on local community events and taking photographs, writing headlines and captions, doing interviews on the phone to follow up on story leads, doing rewrites, editing entertainment and sports articles, etc. Also uploading content to our website. Must be enthusiastic about covering the Indian American community.

Experience:

Qualifications: One-two years’ experience with a U.S.-based newspaper preferred; must have knowledge of India and Indian culture; knowledge of Hindi preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Internet tools; Indesign experience helpful; B.A. in Journalism or English. Excellent command of the English language and immaculate grammar a must.
