Description:
Come work on the cutting edge of content strategy! Original9 Media, a premium content marketing firm in San Francisco, is looking for a Managing Editor to join our growing team and oversee the day-to-day management of original content programs for high-level business and consumer audiences.
The Managing Editor will help drive editorial strategy and direction, manage copy flow and posting schedules, and direct a team of freelance contributors and internal writers across multiple content programs simultaneously. This includes recruiting bloggers and subject matter experts, assigning and editing stories, writing headlines and display copy, guiding daily promotion strategy, and ensuring our media properties attract and maintain loyal audiences. At times, the Managing Editor will be responsible for writing pieces directly as our editorial team grows.
This is a leadership position for someone who likes to drive the editorial process from concept to implementation and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a ton of energy, work well in a fast-paced, changing environment and be passionate about making editorial processes run efficiently. The position reports to LaunchSquad's Editorial Director.
Experience:
Job Qualifications:
• 6-7 years experience in business and/or technology writing, online content management or high-volume digital publishing
• Exceptional editing and writing skills
• Experience recruiting and managing teams of bloggers/writers
• Passion for making publishing processes run efficiently
• Familiarity with and enthusiasm for the latest tools in publishing technology
• Basic experience in product management
• A love for storytelling
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Headline and display copy genius a plus
