Description:

WRKF is seeking an ambitious journalist to join its growing newsroom as a full-time host/reporter. The host/reporter will be the local voice of All Things Considered, anchoring newscasts and producing spots and features for broadcast and the web. The host/reporter works under the guidance of the News Director and in concert with other station staff. Political junkies and sports fans are encouraged to apply.

The host/reporter should be able to take an idea and run with it, whether that’s an assignment from the News Director, a pitch from a listener, or the result of their own muckraking. The host/reporter should be able to put together weighty and creative stories on tight deadlines. The host/reporter should feel at home in the air studio, delivering the news with a professional, conversational, and defining presence.

Experience:

The host/reporter must have demonstrated news judgment and broadcast experience. The host/reporter must possess technical savvy with audio editing and multimedia tools. Ability to multi-task gracefully and give great attention to detail is essential. Curiosity and a sense of humor a big plus.
