State:

Description:

GuidePal - the world’s most popular free city guide app that makes travelers feel like locals and shares hidden gems and local hotspots you won't get from other guides - is looking for brilliant and enthusiastic freelance writers.

Every day we are creating new guides, and we need writers who are able to transport our readers to these fascinating cities. You'll be assigned a city that you've been to, and will be teamed with one of our 'local experts' (locals who provide tips). Building on these tips, you'll create a guide that's your own, one that truly reflects the quirks and unique personality of the city.

Experience:

At least two years of news/feature writing experience.

Specifically, you will have:
- a unique, intelligent and articulate voice
- a vivid, colorful writing style packed with personality
- thorough research skills
- the ability to be both detailed and concise
- a meticulous nature with strong organizational skills
- a passion for travel.

How To Apply:

Send your resume/CV, three clippings, and the cities you're familiar with to simon@guidepal.com.

Posting a Job or Internship:

If you have a job or internship posting you want included in the J-JOBS database, please use the Job Submission Form. There is no charge.

We try to post jobs and internships as they come in, but in some cases we post them once a week on Sunday evening or Monday morning. Job postings are removed after about 30 days. Internship postings are generally considered permanent (we'll try and re-verify them every year). Some positions listed may already be filled.

Disclaimer:

No attempt has been made to verify any of the information in any of the job postings. J-JOBS is a free service to the journalism community by the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California at Berkeley.
