Description:

Urbanite is hiring a team of five eloquent, energetic writer/editors to shape topic-specific e-magazines and the associated "channels" on the company's website. The five topics are as follows:

1. arts and culture
2. food and drink
3. home and design
4. style and shopping
5. the environment

Writer/editors will be responsible for daily blog posts and social media updates, weekly e-mail magazines, and monthly news stories and reviews for the website and print magazine. Content will be smart, streamlined, and grabby, and created with an eye to fostering community participation.

Writer/editors will work part-time (approximately 10 hours a week) from home. Hours are flexible, but blogs and social media must be tended 5 days a week.

Experience:

Applicants must have at least five years experience covering one of these topic areas in Baltimore or a similar size city. Must live in (or plan to move to) the Baltimore area. Must be Web-savvy and engaged in social media.
