Description:

InTheFray Magazine (http://inthefray.org), an award-winning international publication that seeks to question, inform, and inspire conversations about identity and community, is looking for a VISUAL EDITOR to oversee our IMAGE department.

The VISUAL EDITOR position offers a rare chance to shape photographs and art into cohesive stories, learn about online publishing, and work with bright, energetic photographers, artists and editors. We are searching for a talented photographer and editor to seek out submissions, compile photographs and artwork into a finished product that tells a story. Someone with a working knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver and/or Flash and experience designing visual stories for the web would be ideal. The VISUAL EDITOR is responsible for recruiting contributors, and works with them to edit photography and art into cohesive stories. The VISUAL EDITOR must commit to working with the magazine for AT LEAST SIX MONTHS for ten to twelve hours per month.

All work can be done from home; communication with other editors and artists happens primarily through email and phone. Our nonprofit magazine is run by an all-volunteer staff; editors receive a $100 honorarium (half paid every six months).

How To Apply:

Interested candidates should email a cover letter, resume, three samples of your best work, and three professional references to editor Aaron Richner at recruiting-at-inthefray-dot-org.
