Reporter and Washington Correspondent specializing in science and economics at the San Francisco Chronicle, 1987-2007. Previous experience includes: Economics writer at USA Today; general assignment and investigative reporter at the Arkansas (Little Rock) Democrat; business editor at the Stockton Record; reporter at the Rutland (Vt.) Daily Herald. Attended UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism 1981-82, graduating (finally) with the coveted MJ degree in Fall 2015.
