dispatches: Between Gutenberg and Google

Presented by Center for Investigative Reporting

Robert Rosenthal, director of the Center for Investigative Reporting, will moderate a panel including dispatches co-editors Mort Rosenblum and Gary Knight, along with Eric Stover, director of the Human Rights Center and adjunct professor of public health, and Rémy Ourdan, celebrated chief correspondent of Le Monde in Paris.

In dispatches' second issue, Beyond Iraq, Rod Nordland sets the scene on the ground in a powerful first-person narrative; Jamie Tarabay talks to Iraqis and Arab neighbors who feel the impact of the war up close; Yuri Kozyrev dramatically portrays each stage of conflict and collapse in Iraq; Rémy Ourdan explains how U.S. policy strengthens al Qaeda and swells terrorist ranks; Keith Richburg follows the ripples spreading beyond Iraq to the rest of the world; and Jeff Danziger's cartoon panel captures the anguish of young Americans stuck fighting an un-winnable war.
