Welcome to the 2006 ASNE High School Journalism Institute at the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley.  We have a great program of workshops, field trips and discussions to give you an understanding of how newspapers and journalists work and the tools to produce a successful school newspaper.

We want to thank the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, which funds the ASNE Institutes around the country, and especially program director Diana Mitsu Klos. We also want to thank the San Francisco Chronicle, the Associated Press San Francisco Bureau, the San Jose Mercury News and the Marin Independent Journal for sharing their time and staffs.
